Hogeschool Utrecht
For the signature project, in collaboration with Hoegeschool Utrecht, our goal was to instill a designer mindset within teachers, emphasizing its integration into an upcoming green neighborhood, Cartesius. Following comprehensive research, the challenge crystallized into: “How might we develop a design toolkit that allows the collaborative creation of an improved learning environment, ensuring a balance of everyone's needs?“

Designing & Documenting
Embarking on this project, I embraced the role of a designer, marking a significant shift from previous projects where more experienced designers led the way. Navigating this newfound responsibility was both enjoyable and challenging as I endeavored to discover my unique design style while aligning with the client's preferences. Additionally, taking on the task of capturing notes and documenting key moments played a crucial role in creating the final document. This dual role not only allowed me to explore my creativity but also contributed to the comprehensive and well-documented outcome of the project.
Communication
Building on the feedback from the group, I recognized a strength in effective communication, a skill I attribute to immersing myself in the role of a contact person and being surrounded by a collaborative team. The experience not only honed my communication skills but also had a positive impact on my ability to articulate ideas, which, in turn, translated into enhanced pitching skills.
Good energy
Drawing from the feedback received, I exuded positive energy, which in my opinion, was also largely attributed to the good dynamics within our group and the enjoyable atmosphere that persisted throughout our collaborative work. I believe the fun we had while working turned to be a crucial factor in the success of the project, especially considering the extended hours and days invested.

Codesign Session
Throughout this project, we took the initiative to host a co-design session, a decision that proved highly effective. This session not only provided valuable insights into the intricate dynamics of how the target group behaves and thinks but also offered a deeper understanding of the processes that foster connection among individuals. These insights played a pivotal role in shaping our final toolkit, as they allowed us to create a more resonant resource for our audience
Brainstorming
I participated in a brainstorming session organized by the clients, which proved to be highly effective. Collaborating and brainstorming with experienced teachers provided me with the chance to explore diverse perspectives. Building upon each other's ideas was particularly intriguing, especially given our different experiences. This engagement allowed me to witness the usual dynamics among different teachers, providing valuable insights that influenced the design process.

User-Centric Evolution
Recognizing the critical role of testing and iteration in the project's success, I came to appreciate the importance of truly understanding the target group's thoughts and behaviors. In the iterative journey of crafting our final toolkit, I learned the invaluable lesson of consistently reaching out and connecting with both the target group and the clients. This active involvement enabled us to continually refine the prototype, resulting in a solution that not only resonated more effectively but also added value. This experience not only deepened my grasp of user-centric design but also emphasized how ongoing communication plays a crucial role in project development.
Juggling Priorities
Navigating pressing external issues alongside project commitments presented a formidable challenge during the project's beginning. Balancing both endeavors amid deadlines proved to be exceptionally demanding. In response, I took on additional tasks and worked diligently to compensate for any potential setbacks and show commitment. This experience served as a potent opportunity for personal development, honing my time-management skills and the ability to adapt and contribute effectively under challenging circumstances
