10Clouds
During International Week in Warsaw, Poland, our collaboration with the tech company 10Clouds focused on devising smart methods to identify and combat misinformation. The challenge formed was: “How might we allow students to form opinions more personally in the most productive and practical manner while conducting research for school?“
Impact & Change
Facilitator
Throughout this project, I found myself taking on the role of a facilitator. As time constraints became more apparent, I realized the crucial importance of this role in keeping things on track. Tuning into the group's energy, I stepped up to address issues with the coaches, ensuring our team dynamics stayed effective. Managing expectations on both ends became second nature, contributing to a smoother workflow.
Interviewing
Given my love for interviewing, it felt natural for me to assume this responsibility during the project. This role not only aligned with my passion but also played a key part in shaping the insights that made our final product stand out during the pitch.
Exploring Videography
Fueled by my interest in videography, I found great satisfaction in not only capturing memories but also playing a significant role in crafting the final video for the project. This experience not only heightened my passion for videography but also served as motivation to delve deeper into this creative realm in future projects.
Design Methods Mastered
Design Sprint 2.0 Methodology
With just 4 days allotted for the design thinking process, we adopted the Design Sprint 2.0 method, a modified version that condenses the typical 5-day process into a more streamlined timeframe. This approach involves squeezing the various stages, including ideation, prototyping, and testing, into a shorter duration. It was intriguing to witness how effectively we navigated through each phase, successfully completing the entire process within this accelerated timeframe.
User flow
We also created a user flow for the plug-in, which enhanced our ability to communicate the concept and functionality of the plug-in. This visual representation not only provided a comprehensive overview of the user's journey but also served as a valuable tool in conveying the smaller details of how the plug-in operates.
Personal Development
Growth Through Mistakes
I underwent a valuable lesson in embracing mistakes, particularly during pitching where I initially missed some information. Instead of dwelling on the error, I took the opportunity during the Q&A session to rectify and reinforce the crucial details. Recognizing that making mistakes is a natural and human part of the process and that next time, I can always do better.
Alongside pitching, I assumed the role of facilitator. Due to time constraints, I initially dove directly into the project without a thorough understanding of the facilitator role. As the project advanced, I recognized the limitations of this approach. In the final days, I invested time in learning more about the facilitator role, applying newfound insights that brought a structured design sprint approach. This experience underscored the importance of a comprehensive understanding of roles and processes, even under time constraints.
Navigating Team Dynamics
Entering a tech-related project, a domain I wasn't familiar with, I initially doubted my ability to contribute within the short timeframe. However, engaging in research and seeking guidance from experts in the field proved transformative. It underscored the notion that my potential is not confined by my current knowledge, emphasizing the vast opportunities for learning. This experience illuminated the importance of cultivating a rich network, showcasing that collaboration and leveraging expertise can significantly enhance one's capacity to contribute in unexplored territories.
